New Special Forces Group shooter game
Special Forces Group 3 is a free action game for mobile from developer ForgeGames Mobile. It's the third installment in the Special Forces Group (SFG) series of online PvP shooters. It retains the classic skill-based FPS gameplay while introducing a number of key improvements to enhance the overall player experience.
Compared to its predecessor, Special Forces Group 2, one of the highlights of Special Forces Group 3 is improved visuals with its higher fidelity graphics, as well as smoother animations. As for combat, controls remain fluid and intuitive, and it still boasts multiple game modes for players to choose from.
An updated classic
The Special Forces Group, or simply SFG, series is one of the most popular online PvP shooters in the mobile space today, and it's not hard to see why. Taking cues from the classic Counter-Strike games, it combines skill-based combat with realistic gunplay mechanics. Now in its third iteration, Special Forces Group 3 is the latest in the line that improves a couple of key aspects.
Special Forces Group 3 made key improvements on its 40-plus maps, as well as to the more than 30 weapons and three types of gear you'll use in combat. It even introduced new characters and expanded its skin customization catalog to over 100. They are completed by nine game modes, so you can pick what type of matches you want to play with others online.
The game is not limited to just online gameplay, though, as it also features a dedicated offline mode wherein you can play matches with AI-controlled bots. This gives you a good opportunity to practice the game and improve your skills. There are a few things that can be better like the finicky controls that make it hard to control movement sometimes. Related to that, gun recoil is also a bit much and could be dialed down a notch.
A worthy sequel
All in all, if you've been a long-time fan of the SFG series, you will like what Special Forces Group 3 brings to the table. It builds upon the already impressive content and improves on it further. Combat is as tough and engaging as ever, and the multiple game modes ensure there's something for everybody. Don't hesitate to give this one a try.
